Oxford Brookes University gives Granule Applicator Thumbs Up for Salt Spreading
We know it’s only just Autumn but we’re thinking ahead to those colder days. Apparently, meteorologists are predicting more chilly spells for winter 2024/25. This possibly has something to do with La Niña but we are not weather experts so we may be conflating different reports here!

Anyway, the important thing is to be prepared for those icy, frosty conditions that could cause slippy paths and thoroughfares. Oxford Brookes University has been planning ahead, looking at ways to improve the efficacy of its salt spreading.
We held a trial there last week and the Uni was very pleased with the results. As you can see from the video below, using our 16kg Backpack Granule Applicator enabled them to spread evenly, accurately and without having to stop and refill the hopper every five minutes. We used 12Kg of salt (taking the total load to about 17kg if you include the weight of the Granule Applicator) which covered about 700 yards (0.6 km or 0.4 m).
See it in action below.
