A customer called in to order more Trico® and reported that, for the first time in 20 years, she was not fretting about deer eating her roses.
‘I have been tearing my hair out due to deer and muntjacs destroying my garden, particularly my roses. This year, for the first time in a long time, I have been able to enjoy their blooms. It is early days but, so far, Trico is brilliant and I can say that is has changed my life’!
She went on to mention that, again, while it was early days, she had great hopes for Trico® bringing her yew hedge back to its former glory . ‘It literally has a straight line below which the deer have munched it. It is as if I have deliberately pruned it like that because the line is so precise. I can’t wait to see if it can recover.’
This prompted us to look into the destruction deer wreak on yew and other hedges and yes, the damage can be quite severe!
While we don’t have a picture of a yew hedge (our customer has promised us a before and after!), the image here of a cedar hedge shows the sort of thing she is experiencing. Heartbreaking!
So, if you are falling victim to hungry, or just opportunistic, deer and muntjacs, try Trico®. Note that the Pro version, which comes in a 10L tub, does have a white cast to it which might not be aesthetically pleasing but it will allow your hedge to recover and will be a more cost effective solution than the Trico Garden version which only comes in a 500ml size. We will report back on the yew hedge recovery as soon as we have news…
